REMINDER: Homework may be sent home on Monday. I might ask you to work on one thing during the week. Most times, I just want you to read to your child.
Homework Suggestions:
Please remind your child of the importance of listening and following directions at school; read to your children--over and over!
1. Practice naming letter names in their name; rote counting; naming numbers and counting out how many.
2.Have your child read a book by telling you about what is going on in the pictures. Read books and have them re-tell a story.
3. Saying the ABC's and not singing it--Making sure no letters are left out or mispronounced, go over rules with your child. Please reinforce the need for always listening to the adults in charge at school.
4. Practice tying shoes and fastening coats.
5. Have a discussion about friendship, sharing, and treating people fairly.
6. READ, READ, and Read some more. One of the most beneficial things you can do for your child is read to them daily (and for them to see you reading!). Children should read pictures and read words that they know. Have your child look for the words that we have introduced. Have them read the pictures in a book to you. Do a picture walk through a book before you read it to them so that they can learn to tell the story by looking at the pictures. Then you can compare their version with what you read to them.
Have FUN!
