Behavior Management Plan--Mrs. Warren’s Kindergarten Class
I believe that in order to have a well-managed classroom where learning is taking place, we need to have mutual respect between the teacher and students. I spend a lot of time learning about, talking to, and getting to know and care about every one of my students. Your child will be encouraged to try and do their best every day. There is no “I can’t” in our classroom. We speak positively about ourselves:
Our school motto is:
I am smart.
I am kind.
I am important.
And I am here to Learn.
My classroom is highly structured and I have high expectations for my students. Consistency is the key to having a well-managed classroom.
I believe having open communication between teacher and parents is essential to your child’s educational success. I will be communicating regularly with you through weekly newsletters, website, notes, email, and phone calls. You may contact me at any time at 445-0516 or [email protected] also.
We have so much to learn in kindergarten and the less time I have to spend on discipline (and interruptions), the more time I have to teach.
Consequences:
1st--Verbal Warnings: Children may have up to 3 depending on the incident.
2nd--Thinking Chair: Child will sit and think about changing their behavior and tell the teacher the rule and what they need to do.
3rd--Name on the Board: This means they will “owe” me time (5 or 10 minutes) either at free time or recess.
4th--Responsible Ranger Room Referral: This means a write up which you must sign and return. You will receive notification from me.
Unfortunately some problem behaviors that hurt other children or are considered major offenses may skip directly to a level 3 or 4.
After any problem behavior I conference with the individual child and we problem solve regarding the behavior and how to change it and re-state the positive desired behavior.
Mrs. Warren’s Classroom Rules
1. We walk in school.
2. We are kind and show respect.
3. We keep our area clean.
4. We keep our hands, feet, and objects in our own personal space.
5. We stay on task (doing what the teacher has told us to do).
6. We obey the proper voice level.
Let’s work together to have a positive learning environment for all children. Thank you.
